How do I know that your staff is not embezzling money from our company?

This is another one of those questions that I answer by asking a question, “How do you know that your in-house staff is not embezzling money from you now?”

Our billing companies have eliminated this risk by requiring all of our clients to open and maintain a bank lock box.   All insurance checks, patient payments, or credit card information goes directly through the bank’s lock box; so no money whatsoever is handled by the billing service staff.

Additionally, our company does background checks on all of its employees and carries several types of insurance in the event of any staff wrongdoing.  To date we have never had an incident of theft of any kind.
